The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi, commended the efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and its diplomacy in defending the issues of the Arab nation, with the Palestinian cause being at the forefront.
Al-Asoumi reiterated on Tuesday the Arab Parliament’s support for Egypt’s stance in all actions taken to protect and preserve its national security, which forms an integral part of Arab national security.
This affirmation came during a meeting today with Ambassador Dina El-Sayeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Parliamentary Affairs, and her accompanying delegation at the General Secretariat of the Arab Parliament. The meeting addressed the latest developments on the Arab scene, primarily the Palestinian issue and the serious escalation in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Asoumi briefed the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs on the parliamentary movement plan prepared by the Arab Parliament to support the rights of the Palestinian people, confront the crimes committed by the occupying force in the Gaza Strip, and document war crimes and genocide against unarmed children, women, and elders.
Ambassador Dina El-Sayeh emphasized the significant role played by the Arab Parliament at the Arab, regional, and international levels, especially in its strategy to enhance the role of parliamentary diplomacy.
She expressed her enthusiasm for strengthening cooperation with the Arab Parliament in defending Arab nation issues, especially in light of the important role played by parliamentary diplomacy at all levels and dimensions.
