Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, warned that continued conflicts would lead to the collapse of the Sudanese state, emphasizing the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire while providing support for the Jeddah platform linked to dialogue with Sudanese parties.

During a joint press conference with the United Nations envoy to Sudan, Ramtan Lamamra, he highlighted the meeting’s signals towards the importance of positively engaging with Sudanese state institutions, stressing that without these institutions, Sudan would disintegrate.

Aboul Gheit further explained the formation of a technical team comprising mediators and initiative holders, set to convene next month in Djibouti, a month from now, to exchange information regarding various initiatives.
