Algeria’s Constitutional Court has officially certified President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s landslide victory in the Sept. 7 election.
After re-tabulating vote counts, the court resolved concerns about irregularities raised by Tebboune’s opponents.
On Saturday, the court reviewed local voting data in response to two appeals lodged on Monday.
With over 84% of the vote, Tebboune is now confirmed as the election’s winner. Both of his challengers saw slight increases in their vote shares following the re-tabulation.
The Algerian government will now decide when to inaugurate Tebboune for his second term as president.
