Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who is seeking a new term in the upcoming elections on September 7, affirmed that his country considers its neighbors (Libya, Mali, and Niger) as friendly nations and strives to offer assistance as much as possible. He emphasized the continuation of defending Palestine.
This was stated during Tebboune’s electoral speech last Thursday in the city of Jannt, located in the extreme south of Algeria, as part of the 15th day of the presidential candidates’ electoral campaign.
He explained that Algeria’s voice has become internationally heard, especially in the United Nations Security Council, and will continue its defense of Palestine. He committed to opening borders with Niger and Libya and creating new free zones, particularly as the country today has strong production in several sectors like pharmaceuticals, electrical appliances, and manufacturing industries, among others, which allows it to market in neighboring countries.
Domestically, Tebboune confirmed his commitment to providing all means necessary to realize projects in the southern regions in all fields, especially youth projects, if the people grant him their trust in the electoral event.
Furthermore, Abdelmadjid Tebboune vowed to develop desert tourism generally and in Jannt specifically by offering many facilities. He noted that Jannt possesses considerable potential for development in agriculture, tourism, and services sectors.
