Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune delivered a speech broadcast to all commanders of the military sectors, major units, and higher education institutions across the nation.
In his address, President Tebboune emphasized the importance of the newly established National Day of Memory, which celebrates the proud and glorious history of the Algerian people and recalls the significant sacrifices made against the brutalities of French colonialism.
The president reiterated the nation’s commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty through reliance on a formidable military and a developed economy.
He noted the tangible progress Algeria is making, stating that the pace of growth and completion of major projects by 2027 will bring significant achievements across various sectors.
President Tebboune expressed a firm rejection of foreign debt, highlighting it as a factor that could compromise the sovereign decision-making of the state.
He also renewed Algeria’s unwavering and unconditional commitment to just causes, notably the Palestinian issue and the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.
On the same occasion, the president, who also serves as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, praised the efforts of the various units of the People’s National Army.
He commended the dedication of Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Said Chanegriha, in ensuring the highest readiness of the armed forces.
Chanegriha assured that the military is committed to the pillars of Algeria’s strength in all forms and has taken appropriate measures to counter any potential threats, building a strategy based on rational threat assessment and optimal use of weapons and equipment.
He also highlighted efforts directed towards acquiring the latest weapon systems and equipment, focusing on developing a promising domestic military industry integrated into the national economic system.
Lastly, the Lieutenant General confirmed that the internal security situation of the country is fully controlled, thanks to the efforts of the People’s National Army.
