Media reports have confirmed that Al Nassr is preparing an early move during the current summer transfer window regarding the future of the team’s star player.

The French newspaper Onze Mondial, citing British journalist Jacobs, reported that the Saudi club has begun procedures to renew Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract.

The reports mention that Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr is set to expire in June 2025, but the management is keen on continuing his journey with the club. The article added, “An offer will be presented to Cristiano Ronaldo to extend his contract for an additional season, allowing him to stay with the team until 2026.”

The decision of the five-time world’s best player to accept the offer depends on his plans to play with Portugal in the 2026 World Cup. It was noted that he will discuss the renewal of his contract with his agent and close associates, especially since he had previously stated that Euro 2024 would be his last European championship participation.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent activities have been quite notable. He marked his first competitive goal of 2024 with Al Nassr in their AFC Champions League match against Al Feiha. Notably, this performance followed after he missed a previous friendly match against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. This year, he also made headlines with a new celebration style debuted during this goal.

On the international stage, Ronaldo participated in the UEFA Euro 2024, where he experienced a significant moment during a match against Slovenia. Despite his team’s struggles in the game that ended in a draw, Ronaldo’s emotional response to a missed penalty was widely reported. This incident was during a tense match that eventually went to penalties, highlighting his crucial role in the team despite not scoring during open play
