Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, head of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, declared on Monday that Sudan is currently confronting the largest conspiracy in its modern history. In his statement, Al-Burhan emphasized the profound nature of this plot, which aims to undermine the very essence, identity, heritage, and future of the Sudanese people.
He added that the Sudanese nation is bravely and faithfully confronting some of the most horrifying acts of terrorism, orchestrated by Hamidti and his accomplices. Al-Burhan lamented witnessing crimes unparalleled in the nation’s annals. “The armed forces will stand unwaveringly with the people until free elections are conducted,” he asserted. “We remain a professional force, aligning with the choices of our people, and we will soon celebrate our triumph over this brutal rebellion.”
It’s noteworthy that Sudan has been groaning under severe socio-economic and humanitarian conditions since the outbreak of war between the army and the rapid support forces in mid-April. This conflict, predominantly centered in Khartoum and its outskirts, as well as in the Darfur region to the west and certain southern areas, has resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 3,900 individuals. Moreover, according to the United Nations, over 4 million people have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing strife.
