Kuwait’s National Assembly unanimously elected Ahmed Al-Saadoun as its speaker during the 17th term, marking his return to the post, as reported by the state-run news agency, KUNA.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, following the inauguration of the National Assembly by Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah earlier that morning.
In his address, Al-Sabah emphasised the importance of utilizing constitutional means effectively to fulfill the political objectives of the National Assembly. He stressed the need for the assembly to expedite the pending legislation to meet the aspirations of the people.
The re-election of Ahmed Al-Saadoun as the speaker of Kuwait’s National Assembly signifies continuity in leadership and highlights the ongoing commitment of Kuwait’s parliamentary body to serve the interests of the nation and its citizens.
