On Tuesday, three people were killed in a plane crash in France, according to a statement by the French Civil Aviation Authority.

The aircraft, a single-engine plane, crashed near the Loire River and the Atlantic Ocean coastline.

Initial reports suggest that the plane disappeared from radar shortly after takeoff on Tuesday afternoon before crashing near the Loire River. Initially, only one individual was recovered from the wreckage.

Prominent French television journalist Gérard Le Clark was piloting the ill-fated aircraft, as reported by multiple French media outlets, including the network “C News” for which he worked. It’s worth noting that Le Clark was an experienced pilot.

Former French President François Hollande commended Le Clark, recognizing him as a distinguished political journalist.

The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the media and political circles, as France mourns the loss of such a significant figure.

Additionally, reports from Le Parisien newspaper indicate that the daughter of former French Senate President René Monory was also aboard the plane.
