Snapchat made the dark mode feature freely accessible to Android users after removing its previous condition of a Snapchat+ subscription.

TechCrunch reported that this feature is now open to everyone, a development initially noticed by Android Police.

While iOS users have enjoyed the dark mode without charges since 2021, its introduction to Android was initially limited to Snapchat+ members.

Snapchat disclosed that its subscription service garnered 4 million subscribers in its inaugural year.

At $3.99 monthly, Snapchat+ offers members early access to features, custom themes, distinctive app icons, and the option to prioritize their top friends, among other benefits.

Meanwhile, the subscription service is available in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
