Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has launched its direct flights from Jeddah and Riyadh to Beijing, commencing from Friday.

The first direct flight to Beijing took off via a Boeing 787-9 at 1:15 a.m. today from Jeddah.

In an official statement, Saudia highlighted that the direct flights to China symbolize its role in connecting the two nations across various sectors, including trade, business, tourism, and culture.

Saudia will operate two flights from Jeddah to Beijing every Monday and Friday, and two flights from Riyadh to Beijing every Sunday and Wednesday.

The new route was unveiled during the celebration by Saudia’s Vice President for Air Route Development, Anita Jakowska, who stated that the initiative is in collaboration with the air connectivity program. This is part of the airline’s efforts to expand its network and enhance Saudi Arabia’s connection with the world.

Before Beijing, Guangzhou was the sole operational destination for Saudia flights in China.

Abdullah Al-Shahrani, General Manager for Communication and Information at Saudia, affirmed that the direct flight service will benefit both Saudi and Chinese travelers, particularly in bolstering cooperation in the fields of business, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange.
