Yemen’s Minister of Defense, Major General Mohsen Mohammed Al-Dhaheri, has commended Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in backing the Yemeni military. He has emphasized that the relationship between the two nations’ defense ministries has advanced to a partnership level in defense operations, achieving numerous victories.

Speaking in an interview with Okaz, Al-Dhaheri highlighted that the coalition has significantly weakened the militia and liberated most regions. He further illustrated Saudi Arabia’s supportive and significant role in forming Yemeni forces to confront the Houthi rebels. The impact of Saudi’s quick action that helped halt the enemy’s attack on several fronts cannot be underestimated, he added.

The Defense Minister also shed light on the links and coordination between the Houthi, Al-Qaeda, and ISIS, especially after the capture of terrorist cells operating on their behalf in Yafa and other liberated areas.

Moreover, the Yemeni Defense Minister clarified that his army is prepared with plans to handle any Houthi attempts to sabotage peace efforts and pressurize the rebels to return to the negotiation table. He also discussed the ongoing training and rehabilitation operations and their military successes.
