On Monday, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense announced that the Chinese and Emirati air forces will conduct joint military exercises in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, northwestern China, in August.
According to the ministry, the “Falcon Shield 2023” training will be the first-ever joint exercise between the air forces of the two countries, as reported by the Chinese news agency “Xinhua.”
The ministry stated that the training aims to deepen practical exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese and UAE armed forces, promoting mutual understanding and trust.
It’s worth noting that in April of last year, the UAE and China signed a partnership agreement to establish a factory for producing sustainable electric-powered aircraft and drones for passenger and cargo transport in Abu Dhabi.
According to Abu Dhabi Media Office, the agreement was signed between the UAE’s Monarch Aircraft Manufacturing Company, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, and the Chinese EHang Holdings, which specialized in autonomous aerial vehicle technologies.
The collaboration between the two companies aims to manufacture electric-powered aircraft and drones and establish a control center for managing air routes using autonomous control technology.
