The Tunisian Ministry of Defence has announced the recovery of the wreckage of its military helicopter, which had fallen into the sea off Cap Serrat in Bizerte, at the far north of Tunisia, on June 7th last year.

“The Seventh Day” website quoted the Ministry in a statement, issued on Friday, confirming that specialized diving teams, underwater work units and remotely operated vehicles were deployed to locate and retrieve the wreckage.

On June 8th last year, the Ministry had announced a loss of contact with the helicopter and its crew, composed of four individuals, indicating that it had used all naval and aerial means to search for the servicemen and the wreckage in the sea near Cap Serrat.

The Ministry reported at the time that it had initially retrieved three bodies and parts of the wreckage, and the fourth body was recovered on the morning of Thursday, June 15th.
