Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, the Prime Minister of the Interim National Unity Government, participated today, Monday, in the opening session of the Fourth Conference on Food Safety and Sustainable Healthcare in the Italian capital, Rome.

The conference is held on the sidelines of the United Nations Food Summit, with the participation of the Ghanaian and US presidents, the President of the Italian Senate, and a number of political and academic figures.

In his speech, Dbeibeh praised the European-African partnership in all fields, urging the ECAM Council to hold the fifth conference in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and to develop economic cooperation and investment between the Libyan private sector and Italian institutions operating in this field.

He emphasized that food security faces significant challenges after the Russo-Ukrainian war, which requires investment between Africa and Europe, especially in agricultural development.

He also pointed out Libya’s participation in the Migration and Development Conference, which was held in Rome yesterday, and the agreement of the conference participants on the necessity of development and rehabilitation in source countries to ensure stability.

The conference on food security and sustainable healthcare is taking place in the Italian capital, Rome, over two days, with the participation of around two thousand attendees from 160 countries, including leaders and heads of governments from 20 countries.
