Sky News Arabia sources revealed that a drone strike executed on Wednesday in the suburb of Al-Azozab, near Khartoum, has left 34 people dead. The casualties include 15 civilians and 19 Sudanese army officers, suggesting that the drone may have been operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

On another note, eyewitnesses reported hearing the sounds of fighter jets circling over RSF positions in Khartoum on Thursday morning. However, there have been no reports of gunfire exchanges or human losses at this stage. Residents of the area stated that the aircraft conducted three air raids, describing the explosions as “terrifying”.

In North Kordofan state, eyewitnesses confirmed that the armed forces launched missile and artillery bombardment on RSF positions in Al-Obaid city.

In a related development, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced on Wednesday that it had facilitated the release of several Sudanese army members who had been held captive by the RSF. The Red Cross statement clarified that the operation involved the release of six detainees from the RSF, and their transfer to Gezira state, central Sudan.

Since the outbreak of war on April 15, the conflict between the army and the RSF has resulted in at least 3,000 deaths and displaced more than 3 million people.
