A video released by Ukrainian officials claims to show dozens of North Korean recruits receiving Russian military uniforms, indicating their deployment to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The footage was shared by Ukraine’s Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, part of the Culture and Information Ministry. According to the center, the video allegedly shows North Korean soldiers lining up to receive bags, clothing, and other supplies from Russian servicemen.
Ihor Solovey, head of the center, stated, “We received this video from our own sources. We cannot provide additional verification from the sources who provided it to us due to security concerns.”
He emphasized the significance of the video, claiming it as the first evidence suggesting North Korea’s active involvement in the war alongside Russia, not just with weapons but now with personnel.
The video’s authenticity could not be independently verified by The Associated Press, and the exact location where it was recorded remains unknown.
The center claims that a Russian soldier filmed the footage in recent days but has not disclosed how the footage was obtained.
