Jordan announced on Wednesday the passage of 50 new trucks carrying humanitarian aid into Northern Gaza.
According to Petra news agency, the convoy includes food supplies, health parcels, and baby food, coordinated by the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Royal Hashemite Charity Organisation, in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and UNICEF.
Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, the Secretary-General of the Royal Hashemite Charity Organization, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting the people of Gaza despite the ongoing challenges and difficulties.
“Our efforts to prepare and dispatch relief convoys have not ceased,” said Al-Shibli.
He reassured that the coordination continues to ensure these convoys pass safely and properly to deliver aid effectively and respectfully to the residents of Gaza.
These aids will be distributed by partner organizations operating within Gaza.
Al-Shibli also noted that the total number of trucks that have entered Gaza to date has reached 3,652, reflecting the sustained effort to support the beleaguered region.
King Abdullah II of Jordan has issued a stark warning about the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza, urging the international community to enhance its humanitarian response in the region.
During a phone conversation with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Abdullah II reiterated the necessity of halting the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon and reducing escalations in the area, according to a statement from the Royal Hashemite Court.
King Abdullah highlighted the grave consequences of continued Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and the violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu Khalaf stated that there are no indications of de-escalation in Gaza, as violence continues to escalate due to Israeli military actions.
Abu Khalaf highlighted that the humanitarian response in Gaza lacks the essential global standards required for emergency situations.
