On Friday, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the support shown by members of the UN Security Council for Secretary-General António Guterres, following Israel’s recent announcement declaring him persona non grata.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, reaffirmed the country’s full support and solidarity with Guterres, praising his dedication to the principles of the UN Charter and international humanitarian law, including the right to self-determination.
Khalaf also highlighted Guterres’ distinguished role in promoting global peace and security, calling his moral stance inspiring and something history will remember.
