In a violent confrontation early Thursday morning, Israeli security forces killed three Palestinians and injured four others in Qabatiya, a town south of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the Israeli military stormed into Qabatiya, surrounded a residential building, and bombarded it with shells before storming the roof to retrieve the bodies of the deceased.
The raid began after Israeli special forces were reportedly discovered near Izzat Abu al-Rub school, prompting the forces to fire live ammunition and Energa rockets at the besieged house.
Eyewitnesses reported that amid the chaos, two Palestinians were shot—one in the shoulder and another in the knee—near the school area during an incident where a military jeep ran over a civilian vehicle.
The escalation did not spare local students; dozens suffered from tear gas inhalation leading to severe panic among them and the teaching staff.
The intense deployment of tear gas specifically targeted the Abu al-Rub school, effectively trapping students and educators inside.
WAFA further reported that Israeli soldiers obstructed Red Crescent teams from accessing the scene and conducted rooftop searches.
They also detonated a bomb and fired tear gas at journalists covering the raid, exacerbating tensions and highlighting the ongoing strife in the region.
