The Directorate of Investigations and Preventive Security at the General Directorate of Security and Discipline of the Popular Mobilization Forces announced the arrest of one of the most dangerous ISIS leaders in Ninewa province, Iraq.
The Popular Mobilization Forces stated in a press release, “In a new qualitative achievement, a force from the Directorate of Investigations and Preventive Security at the General Directorate of Security and Discipline of the Popular Mobilization Forces managed to capture one of the most dangerous remnants of the terrorist ISIS leaders in Ninewa province.”
The statement added: “This was achieved during a special security operation and after meticulous tracking by the Directorate of Investigations and Preventive Security, following the necessary judicial approvals, leading to the arrest of one of the most dangerous ISIS leaders, who held a significant statistical number and belonged to what is called the ‘State of Ninewa.’”
The terrorist occupied the position of “legal official in the Walid sector” and participated in terrorist operations against the Iraqi army and security forces in Ninewa province. The Popular Mobilization Forces confirmed that “all necessary legal and procedural measures were taken against the terrorist so that he could receive his just punishment for the crimes he committed.”
The statement also highlighted that “this special operation is part of a series of important qualitative operations carried out by the Popular Mobilization Forces to pursue the remnants of the terrorist ISIS and destroy their dens and eliminate their criminal elements so that they no longer have a foothold in any part of the homeland.”
