Malaysia has renewed its call for the international community to take decisive and concrete action to prevent Israel from continuing what it describes as genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity in Palestinian territories.
In a statement broadcast by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the large-scale Israeli military operation conducted in the West Bank cities of Jenin, Tulkarm, Tubas, and Nablus over the past 48 hours.
The ministry emphasized that these actions are clear violations of international law, including international human rights law and international humanitarian law, asserting that “the time for empty condemnations has passed.”
Malaysia strongly denounced the ongoing violations and acts of violence committed by Israel throughout the Palestinian territories, including both Gaza and the West Bank.
The statement also expressed Malaysia’s support for the United States’ decision to impose sanctions on groups of illegal Israeli settlers, aligning with various United Nations resolutions, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and the 2024 ruling of the International Court of Justice.
Malaysia reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, pledging continued efforts to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The country also expressed its intention to collaborate with like-minded nations to support Palestine’s bid for full membership in the United Nations.
The Israeli military operation in the West Bank has resulted in widespread destruction and the deaths of more than 600 Palestinians since October 2023.
The Israeli occupation continues its military assaults in the West Bank, alongside what Malaysia terms as ethnic cleansing and genocide in the Gaza Strip, where more than 40,000 Palestinians have been killed.
