The Israeli military announced the assassination of the Tulkarm battalion commander along with four others during a shootout in Nor Shams refugee camp.
According to the Palestinian News Agency Wafa on Thursday, Israeli forces conducted a series of raids across the West Bank, including Nablus, Hebron, and the Nor Shams camp.
Local sources told Wafa that Israeli forces entered Nablus using several vehicles that passed through the Al-Murabba checkpoint south of the city.
The troops positioned themselves in the new area of Nablus and later moved towards the Rafidia neighborhood, where they stormed a building.
The same sources added that a large number of Israeli military vehicles stormed Al-Aroub camp, spreading throughout several of its neighborhoods and patrolling its streets and alleys.
The forces also raided numerous Palestinian homes in the Nor Shams camp in Tulkarm.
The death toll from the Israeli military operation in northern West Bank has risen to 12, with 20 others injured.
This includes a young Palestinian man from Wadi Burqin who was fatally shot in the chest by an Israeli sniper.
He was left bleeding as Israeli forces prevented Palestinian Red Crescent vehicles from reaching the scene.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has reported that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes has reached 40,534, with more than 93,778 people injured since October 7.
The ministry announced this tragic milestone today, highlighting the severe impact of the ongoing conflict.
According to the statement, the Israeli military has carried out four major massacres against families in Gaza, resulting in 58 fatalities and 131 injuries in the past 24 hours alone.
The situation remains dire, with many victims still trapped under rubble or stranded in areas that rescue teams cannot access.
The ongoing conflict, which began with a large-scale Israeli assault on Gaza in early October, continues to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the region.
