Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the repeated and blatant incursions by Israeli occupation officials and settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of respecting religious sanctities and warned of the consequences of ongoing violations of international law and the historical status of Jerusalem.

The statement highlighted the provocation of millions of Muslims worldwide, particularly amid the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its call for the international community to take responsibility in stopping Israel’s continuous violations of international law and related UN resolutions.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also strongly condemned the incursion of extremist Israeli government minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and hundreds of settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, desecrating its courtyards and preventing worshippers from entering.

The OIC labeled this as a provocation to Muslims globally and a blatant violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

The OIC warned of the dangers posed by Israeli policies aimed at altering the Arab and Islamic identity of occupied Jerusalem.

It reaffirmed that Israel, as the occupying power, has no sovereignty over Jerusalem or its sacred sites, stressing that the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, in its entirety, is a place of worship solely for Muslims.

The OIC called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities in putting an end to these serious and recurring violations of the sanctity of holy sites and freedom of worship.

It also demanded an immediate and complete halt to Israeli aggression and the provision of international protection for the Palestinian people.

Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and President of the Association of Muslim Scholars, also condemned these hostile actions, which he described as an affront to Islamic sanctities.

He warned of the dangers posed by the continued violations of international and humanitarian laws by Israeli forces, which provoke the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.
