Libyan Prime Minister Osama Hamad, appointed by the House of Representatives, met with his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly, in New Alamein City, western Egypt, on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Egyptian government, Madbouly welcomed the Libyan Prime Minister, who was accompanied by Belkacem Haftar, Director General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, and Hatem Al-Areebi, Chairman of the Reconstruction and Stability Committee, along with the Director of Medical Supplies and Therapeutic Services of the Libyan government.
Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the Libyan people and emphasized Egypt’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in all areas. He also highlighted the significant role that Egyptian companies play in the reconstruction efforts in Libya.
Osama Hamad expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s continuous support to the Libyan people, acknowledging the directives of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to provide all necessary assistance to help alleviate the impact of Hurricane Daniel, which struck Libya last year.
The meeting focused on exploring ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the reconstruction of Libya, with a strong emphasis on the contribution of Egyptian companies to these efforts.
