Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamieh, has refuted circulating social media claims about the cessation of air traffic in Lebanese airspace.

“The rumours about the halt of aviation operations in Lebanese skies are completely unfounded,” stated Hamieh. He affirmed that “air traffic is proceeding normally, and there is no truth to these rumours whatsoever.”

This clarification by Minister Ali Hamieh came against the backdrop of social media speculation following a rocket shell falling in the town of Majdal Shams.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that the rocket attack on Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan resulted in 12 fatalities.

On Saturday evening, RT‘s correspondent reported that the Israeli army conducted heavy artillery shelling targeting the town of Shebaa in South Lebanon’s eastern sector.

Today, the Israeli military pointed fingers at the Lebanese Hezbollah for the incidents in Majdal Shams, threatening severe retaliation. However, a knowledgeable source within Hezbollah denied any involvement in the incidents to RT, asserting their non-involvement in the shelling.

Moreover, Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, confirmed that the resistance’s denial of involvement in the Majdal Shams incident firmly adheres to the UN resolution, absolving both the resistance and Lebanon from responsibility for the events.
