Sudan & Qatar Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan, met with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, in Port Sudan. The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to support and enhance them.

In a press statement, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, stated that the Qatari minister expressed hope for peace to prevail throughout Sudan and confirmed Qatar’s support for all sincere initiatives aimed at achieving this goal.

Ambassador Hussein highlighted that Al Burhan conveyed his appreciation and that of the Sudanese people for Qatar’s genuine support and the leadership’s solidarity with Sudan’s government and citizens.

Al Burhan also expressed confidence in the ability of Sudan’s armed forces and its people to overcome the current challenges with steadfastness and strength, ensuring the preservation of Sudan’s unity and stability.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin and Director of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Ahmed Ibrahim Mofadal.
