Israeli airstrikes on Al Mawasi refugee camp in Gaza killed at least 71 civilians, according to Palestinian authorities.

Hundreds more were wounded in the strikes targeting the camp, designated a “safe zone” for displaced people.

Gaza’s government media office reported the attack on Al Mawasi camp in Khan Younis, calling it a “massacre.” The Ministry of Health confirmed 71 fatalities and 289 injuries.

Conflicting reports emerged due to the attack’s scale, with initial estimates indicating at least 100 casualties, including both dead and injured. The Palestinian Wafa news agency later reported at least 20 deaths.

Government and relief teams continued to retrieve bodies and rescue wounded people from the bombing site, as stated by Gaza’s media office.
