The Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that Israeli forces have arrested more than 9,450 Palestinians from the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem since the outbreak of the ongoing war and full-scale aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7.

In a joint statement, the organizations highlighted that on Sunday alone, Israeli forces detained at least 20 Palestinians from the West Bank, including siblings and former prisoners.

The arrests were carried out across several governorates, including Hebron, Tulkarm, Nablus, and Jerusalem.

The statement also noted that during these arrest campaigns, Israeli forces have conducted extensive raids, subjected detainees and their families to severe beatings and threats, and caused widespread destruction and damage to homes.

The arrests come amid heightened tensions and violence in the region, which began on October 7 when a major escalation between Israeli forces and Palestinian groups in Gaza led to significant casualties and destruction on both sides.

This period has seen a surge in military operations, civilian displacement, and an increasing number of arrests in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The West Bank and East Jerusalem have been under Israeli occupation since the 1967 Six-Day War.

The occupation has been marked by frequent clashes, military raids, and arrests, contributing to a volatile and often violent environment. Human rights organizations have repeatedly condemned the treatment of Palestinian detainees and the conditions under which they are held.
