Tesla is recalling 11,688 Cybertruck pickups due to a windshield wiper issue that could impair visibility and increase crash risk, according to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Additionally, 11,383 Cybertrucks are being recalled because of a trunk bed trim that might detach and pose a road hazard.

In April, Tesla recalled nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks to fix a loose accelerator pedal pad.

These recalls are the latest challenges for the Cybertruck, with mass production set for next year. Tesla has yet to reveal delivery numbers in its quarterly report.

The Blade Runner-inspired truck began deliveries in November 2023 after delays and a challenging production ramp-up, which CEO Elon Musk likened to digging Tesla’s own “grave.”

The NHTSA stated, “Excessive electrical current can cause the front windshield wiper motor controller to fail,” in a recall letter on Monday.
