50 Cent, the rapper and entrepreneur, took to Instagram to claim that his Twitter account and his website, Thisis50.com, were hacked. According to his statement on Friday, he asserted that the hacker exploited his platforms to conduct a pump-and-dump scheme involving a cryptocurrency, resulting in the alleged theft of $300 million.

In his Instagram post, 50 Cent clarified that he has no connection to the cryptocurrency in question, named “$GUNIT”. He indicated that Twitter promptly responded by locking his account to prevent further unauthorized activity. Screenshots accompanying his post displayed the initial market valuation of the memecoin at less than $1 million, which then dramatically surged in value.

As of Saturday morning, 50 Cent’s Twitter account remained inaccessible, and his official website, Thisis50.com, was also reported as shut down in the aftermath of the incident.

This incident highlights the vulnerability of high-profile individuals and their social media accounts to hacking activities, especially when such breaches are exploited for financial fraud schemes like pump-and-dump operations within the cryptocurrency market.
