Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, met with Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, on Thursday. The two ministers discussed expanding cooperation in various fields.
During the meeting, Safadi and Al Busaidi emphasized the deep strategic and historical brotherly relations between Jordan and Oman. They expressed their mutual commitment to enhancing these relations in all areas, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. They also agreed to continue increasing cooperation, building on the outcomes of the summit that brought the two leaders together in Muscat in October last year.
The ministers discussed several regional issues, including the Palestinian cause and efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis. They explored opportunities to expand political, economic, investment, tourism, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Furthermore, the ministers signed a meeting memorandum aiming to establish broader cooperation in all fields. They also signed a memorandum of understanding and four executive programs in the areas of industrial city development, educational collaboration, youth engagement, consumer protection, and environmental preservation.
The signed agreements and executive programs pave the way for enhanced collaboration, particularly in sectors such as industrial development, education, youth empowerment, consumer rights, and environmental sustainability. This comprehensive approach to cooperation reflects the mutual interests and aspirations of both nations.
The meeting signifies the continued efforts of Jordan and Oman to deepen their strategic partnership and explore new opportunities for cooperation. As both countries work towards common goals, this collaboration sets a positive example for other nations in the region.
