Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, emphasized the need for the international community to share responsibility for refugees, rather than placing the burden solely on Jordan and other host countries.

This statement came during Safadi’s meeting on Tuesday with European Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas. The meeting focused on enhancing and developing the partnership between Jordan and the European Union in various fields, including the Syrian refugee crisis.

According to a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Safadi warned about the decline in international support for refugees, host countries, and relevant organizations.

He appreciated the European Union’s support for Jordan in providing essential services to refugees and stressed the importance of continued cooperation between donor and host countries to ensure a decent life for refugees.

European Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas commended Jordan’s leading role in hosting refugees and providing them with a dignified living.
