Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has strongly criticized attempts by the Israeli entity and its European allies to intimidate the International Criminal Court (ICC) following a request for arrest warrants against Netanyahu.

The Prosecutor of the ICC, Karim Khan, announced that he had requested ICC judges to issue international arrest warrants on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity against Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, as well as three leaders of the Palestinian resistance.

This move led to an attack on the ICC Prosecutor by the authorities of the Israeli entity and its allies.

Borrell criticized this during an interview with a Spanish channel today, Friday, May 25, stating that the Prosecutor has done nothing but formulate charges that will be judged by the court.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy stated that he respects the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, adding that all states that have ratified its statute are obliged to implement its decisions.

Borrell emphasized the importance of ensuring that judges are not intimidated or influenced in their decisions, urging both the Israeli government and certain European governments to refrain from such actions.

He further added that threats or attempts to influence decisions through extreme measures are unacceptable.
