Officials in the Krasnodar region announced that authorities successfully contained a fire at the Tavapsi Russian oil refinery following a Ukrainian drone attack.
According to preliminary information, there were no human casualties, as reported by Reuters.
On Friday morning, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Russian air defense and the Black Sea Fleet destroyed 102 Ukrainian drones and six drone boats over the Black Sea and the Crimean Peninsula, annexed by Moscow in 2014.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported intercepting 51 drones and six maritime drones over the Crimean Peninsula, 44 drones over the Krasnodar region, and six other drones over the Belgorod region.
Additionally, the navy and patrol boats of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed six maritime drones in the Black Sea waters during the night, according to Agence France-Presse.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the governor of Sevastopol, announced on Telegram that the attack caused damage to a substation.
He stated, “There will be limited power outages,” and added, “In light of this situation, I have decided to cancel classes in all schools, vocational secondary education institutions, and kindergartens.”
Earlier, the governor of the Belgorod region, located on the border with Ukraine, announced the death of a woman and her four-year-old child in an attack by a drone on the village of Oktyabrsky.
The Russian military frequently announces intercepting nighttime attacks by Ukrainian drones, but rarely reports shooting down such a large number of drones.
