The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) confirmed on Wednesday the hosting of the Arab Cup tournament in Qatar for the next three editions in 2025, 2029, and 2033.

According to Al-Sharq newspaper, Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary-General of the Qatar National Committee for Projects and Legacy, stated yesterday that Doha will organize the Arab Cup tournament in Qatar for the next three editions in 2025, 2029, and 2033.

Al Thawadi’s statements came during his participation in one of the sessions of the Qatar Economic Forum held yesterday, emphasizing Doha’s capability to host the Olympic Games. He noted that Qatar has previously expressed its desire to host the games by sports officials in the country.

Al Thawadi highlighted Qatar’s readiness to host the Olympics given its outstanding achievements across all sectors. This comes as Qatar prepares to host the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup for the first time in the region’s history, since 2010.

The Secretary-General of the National Committee for Projects and Legacy stated, “Qatar’s tourism sector is the primary beneficiary of hosting the World Cup.” He referred to figures disclosed by responsible parties in the sector, indicating approximately 4 million visitors entering Doha last year, with expectations of achieving more positive numbers in the coming period.

It’s worth noting that Algeria clinched the title in the previous edition held in Qatar by defeating Tunisia. The competition witnessed significant enthusiasm among spectators in stadiums despite the absence of professional players from Europe, just a year before Qatar hosts the World Cup.
