Save the Children organization announced the arrival of an aircraft carrying 92 tons of medicines to Afghanistan.

In a press release yesterday, the organization stated that in conjunction with the delivery of this medical shipment in Afghanistan, more than 675 individuals in the country will receive medical assistance, according to the Afghan news agency “Khama Press” today.

According to Save the Children, about 400,000 children will receive medical treatment concurrently with this aid.

The organization added that the aircraft carrying 92 tons of medicines was dispatched to Afghanistan following an increase in the number of preventable diseases.

At the same time, the organization notes that cases of respiratory infections and measles have increased among children in Afghanistan recently.

Afghanistan has been facing various challenges in healthcare, exacerbated by ongoing conflicts and instability.

Save the Children, along with other humanitarian organizations, has been actively involved in providing medical assistance to vulnerable populations, especially children, in Afghanistan.

The recent influx of medicines is a crucial effort to address the rising health concerns, particularly amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and other infectious diseases prevalent in the region.
