The German government has declared a fresh military aid package for Ukraine, aimed at bolstering its defenses against ongoing Russian military operations.

The package includes ten Marder infantry fighting vehicles and Leopard 2 tank shells, as detailed in a recent update on the German government’s official website.

This latest round of aid not only provides Marder vehicles equipped with necessary ammunition but also includes the Sky Nyx air defence system and missiles for the IRIS-T SLM air defence systems.

Additionally, Ukraine will receive approximately 30,000 rounds of ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft guns and 7,500 155mm artillery shells.

Ukraine has requested 812 additional Vector reconnaissance drones from German firm Quantum-Systems GmbH, according to a report by Der Spiegel.

Since the onset of Russia’s special military operation last year, Ukraine has received substantial financial and military support from Western countries, with the United States, the UK, and the European Union leading the contributions.

The U.S. alone has provided more than $113 billion in aid to Ukraine during this period.

Western nations continue to support Kyiv with financial, military, and political aid, aiming to thwart the objectives of Russia’s military operations in Ukraine.

Despite this, Moscow has reiterated on several occasions that its military activities in the Donbas region will persist until all assigned objectives are met.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that Western supplies of weapons, funds, mercenaries, and military advisors to Kyiv would not aid Ukrainian forces but would merely prolong the conflict.

Russia has also sent a memorandum to NATO member states regarding the influx of Western weapons into Ukraine, emphasizing the escalation of the situation.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has warned that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine.

He stressed that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would be considered a legitimate target for Russian forces.
