The Biden administration has concluded that three Israeli military battalions operating in the West Bank have committed severe human rights violations against Palestinian civilians.

Despite this damning assessment, the US will continue to provide military aid to Israel, citing purported corrective measures taken by the Israeli government.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken outlined these findings in a confidential letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson, emphasizing that the delivery of US assistance to Israel will proceed uninterrupted.

The incidents under scrutiny occurred prior to the outbreak of conflict with Hamas, indicating that they are distinct from operations targeting Gaza or other adversaries.

Critics of the Biden administration are expected to react strongly to this decision, contending that it falls short of holding Israel accountable for its military actions, particularly those affecting Gaza’s civilian population.
