Tunisia is taking part in the annual spring meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Washington from April 15 to 20, 2024.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Economy and Planning on Monday, the Tunisian delegation will have meetings with senior officials from some regional and international financial institutions, as well as counterparts from foreign and Arab countries.
These meetings will provide an opportunity for partners to learn about the Tunisian government’s reform initiatives aimed at enhancing economic growth, maintaining financial balances, and improving social conditions within the framework of Tunisia’s 2035 Strategic Vision and its 2025/2023 Development Plan.
The discussions will also focus on available opportunities to further enhance cooperation, especially in this critical phase facing all countries worldwide, particularly developing nations, which are encountering numerous economic, financial, and social challenges, as well as recent challenges related to climate change, energy, and food security.
The Tunisian delegation members will attend official sessions, and various governors’ meetings, as well as seminars and discussions organized on the sidelines of the annual meetings.
These events will address vital topics related to the challenges of economic and social development, the prospects and challenges of sustainable development worldwide.
The Tunisian delegation participating in these meetings includes the Minister of Economy and Planning, Ferial Borgi El Sibai, Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia, Fathi Zouhair El Noiri, and Director of the Office of the Prime Minister, Samia El Cherif.
