Egypt sent more than 90 trucks to the Al-Awja crossing to complete vetting procedures before entering Gaza, media outlets.

The Cairo News correspondent at the Kerem Abu Salem crossing pointed out that there are persistent Egyptian efforts to deliver aid to Gaza amid Israeli obstacles.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi delivered a resolute speech on Saturday, asserting Egypt’s unwavering determination to bring an end to the ongoing hostilities in the Gaza Strip, which have persisted for over six months.

President Sisi’s remarks were made during a speech commemorating Laylat al-Qadr, a significant occasion in the Islamic calendar, held at the Al-Manara International Conferences Center in eastern Cairo. The event was attended by several officials and religious figures.

In his address, President Sisi highlighted the profound religious and spiritual significance of Laylat al-Qadr for Muslims. However, he also addressed the dire situation in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, reaffirming Egypt’s steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people.

“I will not miss the opportunity to reiterate our unequivocal and steadfast solidarity with our Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip,” President Sisi stated.

He emphasized Egypt’s commitment to exerting every possible effort to bring an end to the hostilities and ensure the unhindered delivery of vital humanitarian aid and relief to the besieged enclave.

Catherine Russell, the Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), expressed shock at the “magnitude and pace of destruction in the Gaza Strip.”

Russell highlighted the devastating impact of the Gaza war, stating that it “has resulted in the death of over 13,000 children and countless injuries.”
