Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohammed Al-Badawi, has urged the international community to act swiftly to end the suffering of the Palestinian people from the daily atrocities of Israeli racial discrimination committed by Tel Aviv.
Al-Badawi reaffirmed, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21, the commitment of the Gulf Cooperation Council states to the principles outlined in the Declaration of Human Rights of the Gulf Cooperation Council Arab States, enshrined in their constitutions and national legislations.
Pointing to Article 2 of the Declaration, which stipulates that “All individuals are equal in human dignity, rights, and freedoms, and are equal before the law, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, language, color, or any other form of discrimination,” Al-Badawi emphasized the GCC states’ respect for the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
He underscored their commitment to legislation, laws, and procedures aimed at eliminating racial discrimination, fostering tolerance, coexistence, justice, and equality in their societies.
Al-Badawi highlighted the dire situation in the Gaza Strip and the plight of the Palestinian people, suffering from oppression, discrimination, racial segregation, domination, imposition of restrictions, deprivation, differentiation, and serious violations of human rights and international law by Israeli occupation forces.
He stressed the urgent need for the international community to take necessary measures to “end the suffering of the Palestinian people from the daily atrocities of Israeli racial discrimination.”
