Hollywood stars and Wrexham Football Club owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are part of a consortium investing in Formula 1 team, Alpine.

The group, which also includes Otro Capital and RedBird Capital Partners, is taking a 24% equity stake in the racing team, as disclosed by Renault, Alpine’s parent company.

The deal represents an investment of 200 million euros (£171 million) and values the UK-based Alpine Racing at an estimated £706 million. Alpine currently holds the fifth spot in this year’s F1 constructors’ championship.

The Hollywood duo, Reynolds and McElhenney, who completed their takeover of Wrexham in 2021, led the Welsh club back to the Football League by clinching the National League title in April after a 15-year gap.

The co-investor, RedBird Capital, an American investment firm, has stakes in the Fenway Sports Group, which owns the Premier League club Liverpool and the Boston Red Sox baseball team. Last August, RedBird added Italian Serie A team AC Milan to its portfolio in a 1.2 billion euro deal and also owns a controlling interest in French Ligue 1 team Toulouse.

Laurent Rossi, the Chief Executive of Alpine, welcomed the partnership, highlighting its potential to boost performance across all levels. He expects the investment to elevate Alpine’s media visibility, thereby supporting the F1 team’s long-term performance trajectory.

Sufyan, an environmental health worker at Al-Far’a refugee camp, was a husband and father of five. This marks the first UNRWA staff death in the West Bank in over ten years. UNRWA highlighted the unprecedented levels of violence in the West Bank, particularly affecting refugee camps in Al-Far’a, Tulkarm, Nur Shams, and Jenin.
