Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Saturday that he sees “no difference” between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Since the onset of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, Erdogan has repeatedly branded Israel as a “terrorist state,” asserting that Hamas, designated as a “terrorist” group by Israel, the United States, and the European Union, is in fact a “liberation movement.”

During a speech in Istanbul, Erdogan reaffirmed his “firm” support for the leaders of Hamas, who have been engaged in a conflict with Israel in the Gaza Strip for over five months.

“No one can compel us to label Hamas as a terrorist organization. Turkey is the nation that openly communicates with Hamas leaders and firmly stands by them,” the Turkish President declared.

Erdogan has consistently expressed support for the Palestinian cause over the years and has been one of the most vocal critics of Israel since the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7.

Erdogan has consistently labeled Israel as a “terrorist state” since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, maintaining that Hamas, considered a “terrorist” group by Israel, the United States, and the European Union, is actually a “liberation movement.”
