Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, stated that the Sudanese authorities have no substantial objections to the establishment of a Russian naval base in the country.

Speaking on the sidelines of the diplomatic forum in Antalya, the Sudanese Foreign Minister said, “We have no fundamental objections to the agreements reached under the previous government, as this is a commitment on the part of the state.”

Ali Al-Sadiq Ali also told “Sputnik” that the new Sudanese parliament would review the agreement with Russia regarding the establishment of a naval base in the country after the elections.

He added, “We believe that a new parliament should be formed to study the agreement and provide a positive recommendation to the government. We will leave this matter to the parliament that will be elected.”
