Spanish sports newspaper “Marca” revealed on Monday that French striker Kylian Mbappé has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid, starting from July 1st, joining from Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.

The 25-year-old Mbappé has been frequently linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent years and had informed the management of his French club last summer that he would not renew his contract, which expires at the end of the current season.

“Marca” added that Mbappé, who won the World Cup with the French national team in 2018, reiterated his desire to leave PSG to Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of the Parisian club, last week in a “friendly meeting”.

According to the newspaper, Mbappé, who joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in the summer of 2017, asked Al-Khelaifi not to present any further offers to him as he had already signed with Real Madrid. The agreement was reportedly reached two weeks ago.

However, the deal has not been officially confirmed yet. Mbappé stated in early January that he had not yet made a decision regarding his future.
