The death toll of Palestinians killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza since October 7th has risen to nearly 28,000.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported on Friday that Israeli forces have committed 13 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 107 Palestinian deaths and 142 injuries in the past 24 hours alone.

The ministry further stated that a total of 27,947 Palestinians have been killed and 67,459 injured in the Israeli airstrikes on the territory since October 7th, 2023.

It was also noted that many victims remain under rubble and on the streets, with Israeli forces preventing ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching them.

Early Friday, the Israeli military bombed targets in the densely populated Rafah, hours after officials from US President Joe Biden’s administration warned Israel against expanding its ground offensive to the southern city, where over half of the territory’s 2.3 million population has sought refuge.

Overnight and into Friday, airstrikes hit residential buildings in Rafah, killing 8 Palestinians. A third strike targeted a kindergarten turned into a shelter for displaced people in central Gaza, killing at least 4 individuals, according to hospital officials and Associated Press journalists who witnessed the bodies arriving at hospitals.
