Ilkay Gundogan, the Capitan of Manchester City, will join Barcelona on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of June.
City offered Gundogan a new contract but the 32-year-old player chose a more attractive deal with the Spanish champions.
The Germany midfielder played 51 games in 2022-23, scoring 11 goals.
Earlier this month, he stated that City director Txiki Begiristain was “working” to keep Gundogan and he “hoped he can be successful”.
The player’s departure follows City’s £30m million agreement with Chelsea to sign Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
In 2016, Gundogan joined City from Borussia Dortmund a deal valued at £20 million. He made 304 appearances for the club, with 60 goals.
He won 15 trophies during his seven year-period at Etihad Stadium, including five Premier League titles, one Champions League, two FA Cups, four Carabao Cups, and two Community Shields.
At the beginning of 2022-23, he was announced the City captain following the departure of Brazil midfielder Fernandinho.
