The UAE Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, engaged in discussions with Lord Tariq Ahmad, the UK Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and the United Nations at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, and the Prime Minister’s Special Representative on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict.

The dialogue, reported by the UAE’s news agency WAM, revolved around the evolving situation in the Middle East and its security and humanitarian implications.

The meeting also delved into efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, enhancing the global response to the worsening humanitarian conditions in the region, and ensuring the safe and sustained delivery of humanitarian and medical aid to civilians.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed the UAE’s support for all regional and international endeavors to secure a lasting ceasefire.

He emphasized the importance of ending extremism, tension, and violence in the area to protect all civilians and provide necessary humanitarian support to the Palestinian people, aiming to alleviate their suffering.

The UAE recently dispatched a fleet of fully-equipped ambulances to the Egyptian city of Al-Arish, preparing for their subsequent entry into Gaza.

This initiative comes in response to the increasing demand for critical case transportation to the UAE field hospital in Gaza, which stands as a primary healthcare provider offering comprehensive services, including emergency treatment for injured and sick Palestinians.

The field hospital boasts a specialized medical team experienced in pediatrics, general surgery, and intensive care. It is equipped with surgical rooms ready for various surgeries in general, pediatric, and orthopedic surgery, along with intensive care units for adults and children.
