Saudi Arabian FM Urges De-escalation in Sudan

In a recent development, the Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, has conducted vital phone calls with both Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, head of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, and Lieutenant General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, Commander of the Rapid Support Forces.

During these separate discussions, they discussed the evolving situation in Sudan. The Foreign Minister emphasized the need for all Sudanese parties to adhere to a commitment towards the restoration of humanitarian efforts.

He further stressed the importance of protecting civilians, aid workers, and ensuring the safe passage of essential aid supplies.

In line with the Kingdom’s stance, the Foreign Minister reiterated the need for de-escalation and putting national interest first. He called for an end to all forms of military escalation and a shift towards a political solution. According to him, such an approach would ensure the return of security and stability to Sudan and its people.
